Hi, my name is Austin Henderson! From a very young age, I’ve been entrepreneurially minded, knowing I was born to build, driven to bring God-sized dreams and visions to life. While playing football at Liberty University, I started my first full construction business. What began with small general projects quickly grew into home renovations, flips, and eventually new construction.
In my final year of football eligibility, I met my beautiful fiancé, Emily. From the beginning, I knew we were both capable of building something on our own, but we quickly saw how much more meaningful it would be to run the race together and build something beautiful. That shared vision is now coming to life through Bask Haus.
I am deeply grateful for the way the Lord has guided this journey- providing this elite opportunity build and create. Through Bask Haus, my heart is to curate homes that are intentionally built, rooted in integrity, and designed to last.
Meet the Builder!
Hi, my name is Emily Sonnenschein… soon to be Henderson. Praise the Lord! From a young age, I’ve been running around with a paintbrush in hand, making messes, and creating something new at every opportunity.
The name Bask Haus comes from my last name, Sonnenschein, which means “sunshine” in German. The root “sonnen” means to bask in the sun. The word bask is defined as “to lie exposed to warmth and light, typically from the sun, for relaxation and pleasure.”
When I hear bask, I immediately think of basking in the presence of the Lord. In Scripture, this idea is often tied to delighting in and savoring God’s presence.
Through Bask Haus, my prayer is to create spaces that foster hospitality and community, while also encouraging rest and stillness in Christ. In the busyness of everyday life, I want to design environments that invite a calm spirit and remind us that we get to BASK in His presence forever.
